Scope of application

With this privacy statement, users are provided with information on the type, scope and purpose of the collection and use of their data by the provider.

The Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG) form the legal framework for data protection.

Collection of general information

Every time this offering is accessed, information is automatically collected by us or by the web service provider. This information, also known as server log files, is of a general nature and does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your person.

Data that is collected includes: Name of the website, file, date, data volume, web browser and web browser version, operating system, the domain name of your internet service provider, the referrer URL (the page from which you accessed our website) and the IP address.

Without these data it would not be technically possible to deliver and display the contents of the website. The collection of data is absolutely essential in this respect. In addition, we use the anonymous information for statistical purposes. They help us to optimise our range of products and the underlying technology. We also reserve the right to subsequently check the log files in case of suspected illegal use of our offering.

Handling of personal data

Definition: Personal data are defined as any information that uniquely identifies a person. These personal data include the first name, surname, telephone number and email address. Information on hobbies, memberships and preferences as well as websites that have been accessed is also defined as personal data.

These data are only collected, used and if necessary passed on by the provider insofar as the legislator expressly permits this or the user agrees to the collection, processing, use and passing on of the data.

Registration on our website

If you register on our website in order to make use of personalised services, personal data will be collected. Your name, address, telephone number and email address are included in this as contact and communication data.

Registration allows access to services and content that are only available to registered users. Registered users can change or delete the data provided during registration at any time as required. Upon request, we will of course inform you of what personal data has been collected and stored. We will also correct or delete the data on request, provided that the request does not conflict with any legal storage obligations. If you have any questions or would like to request the correction or deletion of the data, please use the contact information stated in this privacy statement.

Contact form

If you contact us via the online form or by email, we will store the information you provide in order to answer your enquiry and possibly ask follow-up questions.

Integration of third-party services and content

Our offering may include content, services and offerings from other providers. For example, these include maps provided by Google Maps, videos from YouTube and graphics and images from other websites. Transmission of the IP address is absolutely essential in order for this data to be called up and displayed in the user’s browser. The providers (hereinafter referred to as “third-party providers”) thus receive the IP address of the respective user.

Although we make every effort to use only third-party providers who only require the IP address to deliver content, we have no influence on whether the IP address may be stored. This process is primarily used for statistical purposes.

Cookies

This website uses cookies. These are text files from the server that are stored on your computer. They contain information about your browser, IP address, operating system and internet connection. This data will not be passed on to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent.

Cookies have two main functions. They help us to make it easier for you to navigate through our website and to display it correctly. They are not used to plant viruses or launch programs.

Users can access our website without cookies. To do this, the corresponding settings must be changed in your browser. Please use the help function of your browser to find out how cookies can be deactivated. However, we would like to point out that some functions of this website may be affected and user-friendliness may be limited. The webpages http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ (US) and http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices/ (Europe) enable you to manage online ad cookies.

Use of Google Analytics

This website utilises Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies, which are text files that are saved on your computer and enable analysis of your use of the website. The information on your use of this website that is generated by cookies is usually transferred to a Google server in the US, where it is stored. However, as IP anonymity is activated on this website, within the member states of the European Union or in other countries contracted to the agreement in the European Economic Area, your IP address will be abbreviated by Google prior to transfer. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the US, where it will be abbreviated.

Google will use this information on behalf of the website operator to evaluate the website use, collate reports on website activities and provide further services for the website operator related to the website and internet use. The IP address transferred by your browser for Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent.

Furthermore, you have the option of preventing the capture of data relating to your use of the website generated by cookies (incl. your IP address) by Google as well as their processing by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available via the following link: Browser add-on to disable Google Analytics.

For more information on terms of use and data protection see http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/gb.html or https://policies.google.com/?hl=en.

Google AdWords

This website uses the “Google AdWords” online advertising program and conversion tracking in this context. Google AdWords places a cookie on your computer if you have accessed our website via a Google ad. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification purposes. If the user visits certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google can see that the user has clicked on the ad and has been redirected to this page. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be traced through the websites of AdWords customers.

The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers see the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they will not receive any information that personally identifies users.

If you do not wish to participate in the tracking process, you can easily deactivate the Google Conversion Tracking cookie via your internet browser under User Settings. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics. Learn more about https://policies.google.com/privacy?gl=en.

Google’s privacy policy

We store personal data in accordance with the principles of data avoidance and data economy only as long as is necessary or prescribed by law (statutory storage period). If the purpose of the information collected no longer applies or if the storage period ends, we will block or delete the data.

Your rights to information, correction, blocking, deletion and objection

You have the right, upon request and free of charge, to request information about your personal data stored by us and/or to request correction, blocking or deletion. Exceptions: if data storage specifications as prescribed for business transactions apply or there is a legal obligation to store the data.

Please contact our data protection officer for this purpose (contact details can be found at the end of this privacy statement).

To avoid data being blocked and E.M.S. having to re-establish contact, we must administer your data for control purposes in a block file. If there is no legal obligation to archive the data, you may also request that your data be deleted permanently.

If you legitimately request access to the data stored by us, we will make it available to you in a readable format.

Changes to our privacy statement

In order to ensure that our privacy statement complies with current legal requirements, we reserve the right to make changes at any time. This also applies in the event that the privacy statement must be adapted due to new or revised offerings, such as new services. The new privacy statement will then take effect next time you visit our website.
