In my spare time, I find a balance to the challenges of my job: I’m passionate about tending our family garden and enjoy working in my woodwork workshop. Meeting people is just as important to me. As a networker, I actively nurture my relationships and am happy to embrace the new and the unknown. This openness led me to the Basel region around 30 years ago, which I now call home.”
Education and Professional Experience
Marc O. Bürgi has many years’ experience in the recruitment and placement of specialists and executives, as well as in the sales of complex planning and consultancy services in highly regulated markets, which he now successfully applies at E.M.S AG / C.M.S. AG. As president of a professional association and a member of a trade fair advisory board, he is actively involved in the leadership and further development of organisations, as well as in advising strategic decision-makers. In doing so, he draws on an established network in economic policy. His professional career began with an apprenticeship as a chemical technician at F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG, followed by a degree in chemistry at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland. This foundation gives him a deep understanding of scientific and technical contexts. He is characterised by high standards of quality and is constantly developing his skills – including in the areas of corporate development, quality management, finance, sales and marketing. His participation in the Swiss Innovation Challenge underscores his focus on innovation.
