Our client develops photonic systems for industrial sensing in harsh environments and for quantum computing. All of their products use photons (i.e. light), which makes their solution intrinsically safe and operational in many harsh environments. For example, it is immune to electromagnetic interference (EMI), radiation, high-voltages, high/low
temperatures and more.
Those systems find their application in industrial sensing of many industries. This start-up provides a full stack solution that starts at the measuring point and finishes by delivering digital data and alerts. Its first off-the-shelf product is a smart accelerometer, and it is working on a pressure and a temperature sensor.

To achieve its important goals, our client has asked us to look for several profiles of Optical Engineers, Sensor Testing Engineers, and especially a

Senior Sensor Qualification Engineer and Product Manager (M/F)

This very interesting job, based in Lausanne area, will allow you to live a unique experience both as an expert in sensors and as a Product Manager of these products thanks to your knowledge of the market. You will be in direct contact with the R&D Team, the Management and the Sales Team of this successful start-up and strongly supported by important organizations.

Main Tasks
(as Senior Sensor Qualification Engineer)
  • Responsible for all test activities related to product qualification and specification
  • Establish test and validation procedures to verify performance and conformity
  • Create the installation of all test equipment and protocols, as well as the test and validation procedures of the sensing products
  • Lead the test team, write reports, and train the team to interpret the results.
  • Implement the validation and documentation processes for each change made to the sensors
  • Contribute to R&D projects, produce technical reports and presentations, and report to higher management

(as Product Manager and technical sales support)
  • Understand and set the performance requirements for each aspect of the sensing systems based on Sales & Marketing feedbacks
  • Define product roadmap and set priorities
  • Lead the development of feature specifications, FMEA’s
  • Act as technical expert, participate to all technical discussion with customers
Your profile
  • You have a Master (or PhD) in mechanical, microtechnic or electronic engineering and 10 years of experience with sensors and their design, characterization, validation, and adaptation to advanced market needs
  • You are familiar with products certification (e.g. ATEX certification and class) 
  • You can collaborate in a multidisciplinary team, including theory and experimental profiles
  • You know the quality and safety requirements of the regulatory authorities
  • You naturally adapt the products to the needs of the market.
  • You have technical and market expertise of the sensor’s world
  • You can collaborate within the R&D team, the management team, and the sales team
  • You have proven experience as a leader of complex projects and do not hesitate to do some hands-on tasks yourself
  • You communicate fluently in English, and if possible, in French and German, at all levels of the company
