In this position, you will join the product management team within the marketing department. Directly reporting to the product management head, you have a solid technical background and are an expert in markets and their business characteristics, trends and dynamics. In line with the company strategy, you will actively participate in defining new product development and be involved in their entire product lifecycles. Furthermore, you will provide, develop and implement product roadmaps to maintain the leading position of the company in several industries.Main responsibilities
- Translate market needs into product technology requirements
- Remain at concept-level product definition when producing Marketing Requirements Documents (MRDs)
- Take deep dives into technical details when necessary until engineering independence is proven
- Own the product quality and drive improvements, acting as a bridge between international affiliates, sales and R&D to ensure the products meet customer needs
- Understand markets and technology trends to ensure the products are competitive and well-positioned
- Participate in market analysis and consolidation to frame the new product definition while ensuring their profitability
- Prepare product launches including technical specifications
- Manage technical and commercial data using a product lifecycle management tool
- Participate with R&D teams in engineering critical design reviews
- Define and follow the product cost to ensure the final product gross margin
- Participate in intercompany product development (within HEIDENHAIN group)
- Master degree in engineering or science (microtechnics, mechanics, electronics, materials, physics, chemistry, medtech)
- MBA an advantage
- Minimum 10 years' experience in industrial B2B environment
- Prior experience as product manager, application engineer, service engineer, business analyst, key account sales or market specialist, ideally in the field of IoT/big data, Industry 4.0, software, photonics, robotics, automation, industrial vision, printing, semiconductors, medtech, pharma or other high-tech environment. Alternatively, 5 years' experience in same-fields R&D with proven business attitude
- Knowledge of industrial machinery business (production, intralogistics, machine tools, special machines, CNC)
- Experience and knowledge in direct drive technology a plus
- Business-driven, result-oriented, pragmatic while showing attention to details
- Strong organisational and negotiation skills, ability to work under pressure, ability to multitask
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Oral and written English is a must, French useful, any additional language are an asset
