Lead the development of innovative medical devices for the treatment of drug resistant epilepsy
Epilepsy is one of the most prevalent neurological disorders with about 50Mio people (WHO). Around one-third of epilepsy patients experience drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE), which means that their condition cannot be effectively managed through medication alone. For these patients, surgical intervention is often the only viable option. There are several surgical approaches available, including the use of neuromodulation devices, minimally invasive procedures, or open-skull resections.
DIXI medical is a subsidiary of the family-owned DIXI group, headquartered in Switzerland. They have been at the forefront of Stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG) development since the 1970s. SEEG is a minimally invasive neurosurgical technique used to locate and investigate epileptic foci in patients with drug-resistant focal epilepsy. It involves implanting depth or intracranial electrodes in predetermined areas of the brain to record electrical activity and capture epileptic seizures. The data gathered through SEEG aids in refining diagnoses, planning treatment options, and guiding surgical interventions for epilepsy management.
At the crossroad of data collection, acquisition systems, data analytics, surgical procedures, Dixi aims to accelerate the access of DRE patients to the most appropriate therapeutical responses. To lead their R&D activities, they are looking for a visionary, passionate and seasoned
