Our client, a privately owned company with head office in Bern, is active within a global group of companies as a supplier to the automotive industry. It develops and produces complex plastic gears and gearboxes for applications in modern mobility. The company is one of the world's innovative leaders in this area and enjoys an excellent reputation. Thanks to production sites on three continents, it can optimally serve globally active customers. At its head office, standards are defined within a matrix organisation, which are implemented at five production sites to achieve specified goals. To strengthen quality management, we are looking for an experienced, strong leader as 

Global Quality Director

In this position, you will report directly to the Group COO. After the introductory phase, you will determine the quality strategy together with your superior. You will influence the tools and define quality standards to be met at all production sites. At the same time, you will be in direct contact with the plant managers and local quality managers and in your day-to-day business will work towards the implementation of uniform standards within the Group.

Your tasks
  • Elaboration and specification of the global quality strategy
  • Evaluation and definition of KPI tools and metrics
  • Close collaboration with colleagues in procurement and supply chain management
  • Training and support of local managers from quality and production, technical leadership within a matrix organisation
  • Responsible for the Group’s quality management system and coordination with local quality managers 
  • External certifications and customer audits
  • Project management for the implementation of new metrics/key figures
  • Lean management and CIP (continual improvement process) in connection with quality management
Your profile
  • Higher education as an engineer suitable for the manufacturing machine industry
  • Continued education and management experience in the field of quality management systems
  • Interest in the plastic injection moulding production process
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 standards
  • Global management experience within a matrix organisation
  • Strong communication skills, business-fluent in German and English
  • Willingness to travel globally for approximately 50 percent of your working time
