Energy Management Data Scientist

In this exciting position you will be part of the Energy team, collaborating closely with the Director of Energy, the Controls Engineer and other experts internally and externally. You will have the opportunity to bring key energy management development competences to this 15 people company, growing the company’s capabilities in energy management systems, performance analysis and optimization.

Main tasks
  • Develop predictive and multi-objectives optimization algorithms to improve energy management performance
  • Define, train and build reliable, scalable forecast models using a mix of machine learning, physical and regression models, and other statistical tools
  • Define boundaries and help integrate predictive layers with real-time control imperatives
  • Carry out complex energy flow and user profile data analysis, define KPI, to drive actionable business insights and product performance improvements
  • Integrate data science tools with other layers and database, in collaboration with software engineers
Your profile
  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Advanced Statistics, Mathematics or similar fields
  • Min 3 years’ experience designing, prototyping, deploying and maintaining reliable and scalable data science tools in the energy field using complex time series data
  • Industry experience of data science tools incl. machine learning, time-series forecast models, optimization, physical models
  • Developed own concepts and industrial deployments of distributed energy controls and optimization
  • Proven development experience in Python, experience with other object-oriented programming languages a plus (Javascript, C++)
  • Experience with time-series query, transformation, and relational database tools incl. SQL, influxDB
  • Basic Electrical or Mechanical engineering background to understand energy flows, battery charging characteristics, heat transfer fundamentals
  • Fluent in French and English; German is a plus
