Our client is the market leader in providing innovative and high quality solutions for measuring electrical parameters. Its core products are used in a broad range of applications in automation, drives, renewable energies and power supplies, traction, high precision, conventional and green cars. Our client develops varied opportunities in existing and new markets with new applications. It has production plants in China, Eastern Europe, Switzerland and Japan. With regional sales offices near its customers’ locations, the company is able to offer a seamless service around the globe. It’s a midsize, global company with almost 1,500 employees worldwide and annual sales of CHF >250 million. Our client wishes to expand its main segment through strong leadership and significant profit growth. To achieve this ambitious challenge, we have been charged with finding their future
to manage all sales and product marketing in the worldwide power electronic segment, which currently has revenues of CHF > 200 million with approximately 100 business specialists around the world. You will report to the Senior VP, be responsible for the business development and growth of the main market segments of the company with the cutting edge technology, and also be involved in the outbound product distribution logistics. As a member of the Extended Management Committee, you will plan and manage the strategy for all activities in this sector: for the sales teams, marketing, product management and customer support. You will successfully influence the development of new products thanks to your knowledge of market trends and new opportunities in technological innovation. Due to your close contact with key clients throughout the world, you will ensure growth in market segments and margins by favourably positioning prices and drive cost-reduction programmes through the Product Management team. In collaborating closely with all departments, you will inspire and motivate others, create strategic alliances, and orient the company towards a clear and inspiring vision. Because you are in tune with the market, you and your team will launch marketing surveys to create future business with innovative products and open new markets. We are seeking a real entrepreneur with a degree in electrical engineering – an MBA is a strong plus – and 10 or more years of experience in management for sales, global client relations and product marketing, ideally in power electronics. You have proven and successful experience in drafting and implementing sales strategies that achieve their intended results; you have a clear vision and in-depth expertise in power electronics and its unique environment. By researching challenges and enlisting others to do the same, you know how to resolve problems in a creative way, implementing the best strategies within a complex environment with multiple priorities that sometimes require arbitration. Thanks to your inspiring leadership, you know how to motivate others and help to orient all departments towards a common goal, and create and manage change. By ensuring the promotion of empowerment and making certain that your team members all around the world are encouraged to take on responsibility and that their results are recognised, you are technically at ease in managing and offering advice to R&D in the creation of new products that answer the needs of the market. You are able to act in the real world close to the ground, and like to work in a fast-paced, exciting environment; as a communicator and negotiator, you know how to win over others in favour of your ideas. A self-starter and team player, you are fundamentally result-oriented. You are prepared to travel around the world 30% of the time and are fluent in English, French and German – knowledge of Chinese is an advantage. You also enjoy helping those around you grow professionally and personally.
